Amnesty has released two new videos. The first is intended to raise awareness of waterboarding torture; the second is to draw attention to China’s terrible human rights record.

What are your thoughts on these videos? Do they get the message across well, or are they too in-your-face – or esoteric? Did the waterboarding video go too far?











The waterboarding video is good and pretty effective, I thought.
The cartoon? Too simplistic, almost feels more like it’s taking the piss out of Amnesty than anything else. Meh.
Yeah, the cartoon felt a little odd. It’s perhaps because I juxtaposed it with the very slick Stuff of Life video though. I think once the rest of the four animations come out there will be a better context and (more importantly) coherence.
I agree about the waterboarding video, I never realised it was *that* bad, I can’t believe the US can deny that it’s torture…
Yes, it’s rather galling, isn’t it? A case of “Do as I say, not as I do”.
I really like them both, although I remember thinking that the ‘stuff of life’ video was a bit M&S at the very start.
